1. Who we are
Zenergy Greens (“Zenergy Greens”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a solar energy engineering, procurement and construction business with its office at Room No-311, Narbada Building, Chatribari, Guwahati, Assam – 781001, India. We supply and install solar photovoltaic systems, solar street lighting, solar water heating, solar pumping and electric-vehicle charging systems, and we provide related project management, maintenance and monitoring services.
We are the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. It applies to our website, our enquiry forms, and to conversations you have with us by phone, email, WhatsApp or in person in connection with our services.
2. Information we collect
We only collect information we actually need in order to respond to you and deliver work.
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and location or site address, submitted through our enquiry form or shared with us directly.
- Enquiry details — the product or service you are interested in, and anything you tell us about your site.
- Site and consumption information — roof type and area, sanctioned load, average monthly electricity bill, past bills or consumption statements you choose to send us so we can size a system.
- Documents for statutory processes — where you ask us to handle net-metering registration with the distribution licensee or a government subsidy application on your behalf, the identity, ownership and connection documents that process requires.
- Correspondence — messages you send us and our replies, including over WhatsApp and email.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data — your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view. This is generated by ordinary web-server logging and by any analytics we use.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for and do not want your banking passwords, card CVV numbers, one-time passwords or similar credentials. We will never request them by phone, email or message. If you receive such a request claiming to be from us, treat it as fraudulent and tell us.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
- carry out a site assessment and prepare a system design, techno-commercial analysis and quotation;
- supply, install, commission and maintain the systems you order from us;
- process net-metering applications and government subsidy claims where you have asked us to act for you;
- provide operation, maintenance and plant-monitoring services, including performance reporting;
- raise invoices, collect payment and keep accounting and tax records;
- meet legal, statutory and regulatory obligations that apply to us;
- improve our website and understand which of our services people find useful;
- send you service-related updates, and — only where you have agreed — occasional information about our offerings.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent, trade or otherwise make your personal data available to third parties for their own marketing.
4. Lawful basis and consent
Where you submit an enquiry, you consent to us using your details to respond to it. Where we go on to supply goods or services, we process your data because it is necessary to perform that contract with you. Some processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation — for example retaining invoices for tax purposes, or submitting the documents a subsidy scheme requires.
You may withdraw consent for optional communications at any time by contacting us at harsh@zenergygreens.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and it does not affect processing we must continue for contractual or legal reasons.
5. Sharing your information
We share personal data only where it is necessary, and only with:
- Our own employees and engineers, who need it to survey, design, install or maintain your system;
- Installation and logistics partners engaged on your project, limited to what they need to do their work;
- Government departments, agencies and distribution licensees — such as the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) or the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy — where you have asked us to submit a net-metering or subsidy application for you;
- Professional advisers such as accountants and auditors, under confidentiality;
- Service providers that host our website or handle our email, under contract and only for those purposes;
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Our website is hosted and our communications are handled using service providers who may process data on servers located outside India. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the information continues to be protected to the standard described here.
6. WhatsApp, Facebook and messaging channels
We use WhatsApp and may use Facebook Messenger to communicate with people who contact us through those channels. If you message us there, your message and phone number or profile name become visible to us, and the conversation is also subject to the privacy policy and terms of the platform operating that service. We use those conversations only to respond to your enquiry and to provide the services you ask for.
We do not use messaging channels to send unsolicited marketing. If you no longer wish to receive messages from us on a messaging channel, tell us in that conversation and we will stop.
7. Cookies and analytics
Our website is deliberately lightweight. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own. Your browser may store ordinary technical information required to load the site, and our web host generates standard access logs.
Pages that embed a Google Map use a service provided by Google, which may set cookies and receive your IP address when that map loads. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which similarly receives a request from your browser. If we introduce analytics or advertising measurement in future, we will update this policy before doing so and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using the informational parts of this website.
8. How long we keep data
We keep enquiry data only as long as it is useful for the purpose it was given. As a general rule:
- Enquiries that do not proceed — retained for up to 24 months, then deleted;
- Customer and project records — retained for the life of the installed system and its warranty period, so we can support and maintain it;
- Financial and tax records — retained for the period required by Indian tax and company law;
- Statutory application records — retained for as long as the relevant scheme or licensee requires.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the size of our business — restricting access to personal data to staff who need it, using access-controlled accounts and equipment, and serving this website over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may ask us to:
- Access — confirm what personal data of yours we hold and obtain a summary of it;
- Correct — rectify data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
- Erase — delete data we no longer need for the purpose it was collected, or for which you have withdrawn consent, where we are not required to keep it;
- Withdraw consent — stop optional communications;
- Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
- Complain — raise a grievance with us, and escalate it to the appropriate authority if you are not satisfied.
To exercise any of these, email harsh@zenergygreens.com from the address you gave us, or write to the office address below. We may need to verify your identity before we act. We aim to respond within 30 days.
11. Children
Our services are sold to adults, property owners and organisations. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links
This website links to third-party sites and platforms, including social media pages and embedded maps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We recommend reading their privacy policies before providing them with personal data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, our services or the law. The revised version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Where a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
14. Contact and grievances
For any question, request or complaint about privacy or your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer:
- Email: harsh@zenergygreens.com
- Phone: +91 80117 09310
- Post: Grievance Officer, Zenergy Greens, Room No-311, Narbada Building, Chatribari, Block-A, District — Kamrup Metro, Guwahati, Assam – 781001, India
We will acknowledge your communication and work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the relevant data protection authority in India.
